I have been performing, teaching, and directing theatrical improvisation / improv comedy since 1987. It all started when a friend at university said, "Hey, you like acting. You should come come and try this." Since then I have performed, directed, and taught in New Zealand, England, Australia, the US, and Canada.
I've also produced a number of my own shows, and established improv troupes in England, Canada, and Australia. I'm now living in Christchurch, New Zealand, and am very excited about the potential for expanding the improv scene here.
If you are interested in discovering more about improvisation, you can check out my upcoming workshops.
If you'd just like to know more about my ideas on improv, you can find that in my improv theory pages.
Last year I organised an online workshop with Dave Razowsky from LA. It was a first time for everyone concerned, but the workshop was a resounding success. If you are inspired to try something similar, have a look at my Running a Cyber-Workshop article.
I hope to set up some similar workshops later this year with some more of the world's great improv teachers.
