Long-form Improv: Introductory Workshop

improv funImprovisation is one of the most satisfying forms of acting that you will find. Unlike scripted acting, you get to discover the character and their world in the moment. It's an incredible experience for both performer and audience alike - and it's not as hard as you think.

This one-off introductory workshop is an opportunity to get a taste of long-form improvisation.  It will be followed by an 8 week course in long-form improvisation with the aim of establishing an on-going improv troupe for performance.

The introductory workshop is FREE to attend.

The style that I teach is similar to Chicago-style improv, with a strong influence from the work of LA improv-guru Dave Razowsky.

No prior experience of improvisation is required, but basic acting skills are required. You should be able to project your voice and be comfortable performing on stage.

WORKSHOP FULL  The workshop was extended to allow 15 places, but these have now all been taken.  There will be more opportunities in the future, so if you want to be kept updated, don't hesitate to contact me.

What to bring

  • Your amazing self.  Your enthusiasm.
  • If you want to bring a notepad, you can, but please keep note-taking to a minimum. I find that in your attempt to catch one piece of information you miss another.
  • Warm clothes.  I believe the space is heated, but I have not used it before, so best bring warm clothes to ensure you are comfortable.
